The list of Academic Year (Jan-May) 2019 internships has been posted on PreserveNet at http://preservenet.cornell.edu/employ/ncpe.php. The deadline to submit an application is Friday, Oct. 26, 2018 at 5:00 pm EST. Applicants must be students or recent graduates in historic preservation, cultural management, museum studies, or an allied field (history, architecture, landscape, library science, etc.).
There are almost 70 internships with the National Park Service, Dept. of Interior, or General Services Administration listed, located in sites as diverse at the Capital Mall in Washington, DC and Channel Islands National Park off the coast of Ventura, California. A wide variety of skills are required and a range of experiences and work histories are sought. Internships run for 10- to 30-weeks, or longer if part time.
