Cyrus Green

Graduate student in Geological Sciences at Fort Hays State University, Hays, KS

Internship at the Tate Geological Museum at Casper College, Casper, WY, 2018

“The opportunity would allow me to practice what I learned while earning my master’s degree in paleontology and a certificate in museum studies, and learn new skills for my future career as a museum paleontologist. What I didn’t expect was the great people I would be working with, the many other opportunities that presented themselves, and the vast amount of knowledge I would gain from field excursions, fossil preparation, and collections.

“My time within the program was incredibly rewarding and afforded me the opportunity to be involved with great people doing great work on an important project. I would gladly do it all over again if I could. The skills and experience I gained played a significant part in landing a career with my home state’s parks department. Many thanks to all of you, past and present, that keep the NCPE Internship Program going strong.”
