Preservation South Conference

A new annual event, the Preservation South Conference is organized by and for students.  Last year (its first) it was hosted by the University of Georgia, and this academic year it is at the University of Florida in Gainesville on February 15 and 16, 2013.

The conference will include presentations from experts in the field of historic preservation and students with their own expertise in preservation. The conference will also include social activities, thesis Pecha Kucha, and many other fun preservation related activities! The overall theme will be preserving modernism.

Although this is the “Preservation South Conference” students from all over the nation in historic preservation and allied fields are encouraged to attend.

In the coming weeks, the Historic Preservation Student and Alumni Organization at the University of Florida will follow up with a call for abstracts for student presentations, draft conference schedule, and how to RSVP on Facebook and in their blog. Selected abstracts will be presented at the conference and papers will be published in a PDF that will be made available online.
